Consultancy was something that "just happened" Ndaba Khanyane of Bizdev Consulting candidly admits. Having studied accounting at the University of the Western Cape and worked as a personal financial advisor with Old Mutual for a number of years, Khanyane got into the events organising game in 2006, thinking that was where his future lay. But some friends who'd started their own business asked him to assist them with their books. That led to helping them with other things as well – registration and setting up of various systems. His business just grew out of that. In a nutshell his company assists SMMEs with development. They are the bridge between the SMME and the Department of Trade & Industry. They help them complete their registrations, accreditation, ISO compliance if necessary, training in business processes and even business plans, marketing and promotion. They also help them with the BBSDP (Black Business Supplier Development Programme). The company has an expansion phase and it is keen to open an office in another centre. |
