Previous experience: Trained as a Chemical Engineer and worked for a leading industrial gases company for 5 years and moved on to work in the business and technology incubation sector for 6 years in the ICT and agro-processing respectively. My previous job was with Innovus (Pty) Ltd – a wholly owned company of Stellenbosch University with a mandate to commercialise research outputs of the university.

Family: Married to Ruth since October 2004 (6.5 years ago), other family members; principal heir Caleb – almost 3 years and joint heir Kgalalelo – 3 months.

Who is your greatest icon? Have no icons. One of the great entrepreneurial inspirations is my late grandfather - HM Pitje – former mayor of Mamelodi township in the 60’s, built a business empire during that period and was instrumental in the founding of NAFCOC and African Bank.
